You wield light magic powers. You go to sleep and while you are sleeping you fall into an alternate dimensions where there are these creatures called shadows look like and pretend to be people but they try to kill you. They only come out at night. You have to go to them and kill them. The people you see walking around at night will seem like regular people. You have to talk to them to find out if they are shadows or not. The point of the game is you are trying to get an item called the sunstroke: a wand that lets you do powerful light magic. You can use it to create a portal back to your own world. Once you get far enough, you capture a shadow and he tells you about this item.

You have to go to the place where it is, a shrine. You have to kill the shadow prince. When you use the spell, you are not powerful enough with light magic to make the right portal. Instead of going home, you go to a Rigby head dimension where everybody has a Rigby head.

When you are talking to a shadow, you can shine a flashlight at them and damage them to figure out if they are a shadow. Sometimes they talk to you and give you hints about whether they are shadows cause they think they are better than you.
